Web Site Design
While the term 'design' does include the physical appearance,
there are some more important aspects involved in your web site
design to consider. We will work with you to develop pages to
achieve their highest search engine placement and create a viable
additional sales channel for your products or services.
There are a few of important goals to keep in mind. First of all, we
must identify what functionality
is required for your specific business application, as well as the method and support processes
that will be used to achieve it. The site needs to be self-explanatory or conform to general
standards used commonly on the internet. The site must be structured so that the response time to the user is fast and accurate.
The web sites we develop are configured to run on our own web servers
which enables us to provide excellent features as well as tools and
reporting.
Our Process
Web Site Proposal / Agreement -
After our initial consultation about your web site project, we will begin
to develop a proposal for the best feature set to suit your business needs.
We will include any additional features requests you make up to this point.
We will present you with a detailed list of the features we will include and what we will need from you to begin.
We will also include an estimation of the time we will need to spend on the project, excluding your time for
testing and review and any time with agents you appoint to deal on your behalf. We will also establish a fixed
price that encompasses all the features specified in the proposal unless specifically stated otherwise.
Our web site proposals are valid for 30 days from the date on the
document. This will give you time to review the proposal and if you choose to accept it and it's terms, the final
page will include signatures for agreement. If you accept the proposal, we
will work with you to determine when we can begin
the job, and when you will provide the requested materials and information. One of the things the proposal will request,
is a single point of contact in your organization. This person should have the authority and qualifications to test
and review the work on an ongoing basis, and to make (at the least) minor decisions about the project.
As the stages of the site are completed, your contact person will be called upon to review, test and approve.
These times will be down-time for us, so you should factor into the overall time frame how much time you will
need to perform these reviews. We request that you use your proposal to structure your review process.
That way, no key elements of the development process will be overlooked at the stages where they can be
adjusted with the least amount of modification and time.
Custom Programming and Proposal -
We often have clients that are interested in custom programming of features they wish to add to an existing web site,
or that they wish to incorporate into the one we are creating for them. If we feel the feature is of broad appeal,
we will often incorporate it into our library of features.
If you have a specific feature in mind that we don't currently have a program to suit, we will sit down with you
and discuss specifics about what you want to achieve. We will then
consider the feasability of developing a process for programming the feature
and potential time-frame and cost. The same process as described above will be followed.
A Basic Web Site
Our basic site, generaly
sold with the shopping system added on, includes informational content and a graphic identity. We appreciate
it if you can provide your own logo's and some idea of graphics
appearance, however, if you don't have this established, we will happily work with you to develop a graphic
identity you'll be proud to have represent your company on the Internet.
The following features are included in our basic web site:
- Home Page that presents an initial graphic impression and brief description of your company or organization.
- Company Information section to publish information about your company history, ownership (optional), policies and business practices and any other information you wish to present that specifically addresses the structure or function of your business.
- Product / Services section describing the products or services you sell or provide. These pages would be the foundation for ordering using the on-line shopping system.
- News, Events or Announcements for news releases, new product introductions, or any changes or new information about your company or organization
- Special Promotion section to present specials of the day or contests, etc.
- Site map to provide a visual overview as well as good source for
locating pages with hyperlinks
Some optional and upgrade features:
- Frequently Asked Questions page offering additional information or reformatted information for people looking for a quick overview of your products, services, or organization.
- Store / dealer locator function based on zip/postal code, provides users with the nearest locations to find your products.
- Forms* designed to facilitate customer participation, inquiry,
enewsletter lists, comments, etc.
- Other forms used by your company or organization for survey or information gathering purposes,
such as Customer Application forms, guest book, etc.
