Online Shopping Systems We offer two different types of online sales processing. Database System For many clients, the ability to manage their inventory and pricing in house is an important consideration. When function and keeping the management of these important details in your own hands is your preference, we offer a database shopping system. With many built in features including password authenticated customer accounts, automatic sale pricing including sale end dates, multiple payment methods, multiple shipment methods and pricing and multiple product categories the standard set of programs is an excellent entry point into using an online database shopping system. We can also do custom modifications on request. Text Based System For small product lines, or an economical version, we offer a text based shopping system. This is a simple version of a shopping system with multiple payment methods and multiple shipments methods. This is an excellent choice for customers with product lines that remain fairly static. We perform periodic product file maintenance as well as being able to make modifications at a moments notice if things change. How Online Shopping Works We use what is referred to as a shopping cart method. This term is a metaphor for the grocery shopping cart, in that while you are browsing a web site, you can place items in your cart just as you would in your grocery store cart. In normal english, the way this works is that when the user enters the web store, a unique tracking number is assigned to them. As the user moves from page to page, the number is retained through the programming and as items are selected for purchase, they are tracked using that number. As long as the user remains within the web store, the data is retained. The user may choose to leave the site without going through the finish phase (called checkout) at which time the cart contents will be discarded. Alternatively, the user may choose to go through the finish phase to finalize the purchase. Throughout the item selection phase, the user will be offered the choice of reviewing the contents of their shopping cart, or going directly to checkout. The checkout phase includes gathering any customer details required for processing the order, as well as payment, sales tax, and shipping method and fees. When the user submits their order, a copy of the order will be emailed to the user as confirmation, as well as to your designated agent(s) for processing.
